When it comes to general pest sprays, most pest managers will have their go-to product. Sometimes the product is simply chosen through years of habit, but sometimes it’s because it offers some benefit over the other products. And this is an important point – not all products are the same. Formulation makes a difference. Sometimes it makes a significant difference.

Products that stand out from the rest and deliver results that exceed expectations will develop a loyal following. MaxumPro 125 SC from Sundew Solutions was developed with this in mind, and a unique formulation was required.

“From day one, our mission with MaxumPro was to create a high-performance formulation that technicians could trust to work under the harshest Australian conditions,” says David Priddy, CEO of Sundew Solutions. “We didn’t just want to make a good insecticide, we wanted to make the most dependable one on the market – the product pest managers use when their reputation is on the line.”

At the heart of MaxumPro’s broad appeal is its active ingredient: beta cyfluthrin at 125 g/L, making it the only product of its kind registered in Australia.

“This powerful synthetic pyrethroid delivers outstanding knockdown and strong flushing action due to the use of Sundew’s proprietary Controlled Particle Technology. This technology delivers a perfect bi-modal blend of sub-micron particles for rapid knockdown and larger particles for prolonged residual control – even on porous surfaces such as concrete and timber.”

When treating for pests such as cockroaches, MaxumPro drives insects out of their harbourages, giving clients a real-time view of the infestation. It creates an immediate visual impact that helps reinforce the value of the service. “Seeing pests pour out of hiding places never fails to impress a customer, and helps the technician locate the hotspots,” noted Mr Priddy.

Of course, flushing is just the start. MaxumPro’s long residual activity continues to control pests for weeks after application. “We wanted to create a formulation that pest managers could trust in the unforgiving Australian environment – heat, sunlight, high pH – it doesn’t matter. MaxumPro just keeps working,” Mr Priddy added.

Meanwhile, Sundew’s proprietary Transigel Rheology System ensures the product remains perfectly suspended in its container, resisting sedimentation during storage. When mixed, it dilutes quickly and evenly, giving the technician confidence that they are delivering a uniform application every time. The low viscosity allows for better mixing, smoother spraying, and less wear and tear on equipment.

John Govic from Jim’s Pest Control Melton, VIC, has used MaxumPro for over eight years and continues to be impressed by its superior handling. “When it’s mixed with water in your spray tank it glistens, and is not gluggy,” said Mr Melton. Paired with outstanding results and no callbacks, he has made MaxumPRO his go-to product.

For Jason Simpson from South Sydney Pest Control, MaxumPro is backbone of his product toolkit, having used it since its launch in 2011. “I go through a bottle every three days. It’s my go-to general pest spray,” he said. “It’s sensational on larger cockroach species like American and Australian roaches. MaxumPro delivers results without needing any boosters or extras.”

Apart from his confidence in its performance, one of the key reasons for Mr Simpson’s loyalty is the product’s finish. “It’s the only SC that dries clear. No matter what the surface colour – even dark ones – there are no visible residues. Ninetyfive per cent of SC products will leave chalky residues but MaxumPro doesn’t,” he said.

Mr Simpson regularly treats premium, high-value properties where quality and presentation are paramount. “I do pest services in exclusive $20 million dollar homes in Vaucluse, NSW, where only the best is acceptable. There are no odours, and customers love that. You don’t need to mix in any other chemicals to get great results.”

Convenience and safety are also major factors in his continued use of MaxumPro. “Because it’s super-concentrated and comes in a compact 500 ml bottle, I’m not carrying large volumes of chemicals in my vehicle or creating a DG (dangerous goods) issue. That matters when you care about your gear, your presentation, and your business. If you’re a business owner and you’ve invested in a good vehicle, good equipment, and a professional image, then why wouldn’t you use the best chemical treatment possible?”

Since its launch nearly 14 years ago, Sundew believes MaxumPro has become something of a best-kept secret among pest technicians.

“It has gained a reputation not just as a great all-rounder but also as a secret weapon – one that continues to outperform expectations across diverse environments and pest challenges,” said Mr Priddy. “In a market where performance and reliability are everything, MaxumPro continues to set the standard. It’s not just another general-purpose insecticide. It’s a precision tool, engineered for professionals who know the difference.”

MaxumPro has been formulated to be a high performing, flexible product. Beyond public health pests such as cockroaches, spiders, ants, and bed bugs, it is also approved for a broad range of pests in turf and ornamental settings, including armyworm. On ornamentals and native plants, MaxumPro is registered for aphids, thrips, mealybugs, sawfly larvae, and a host of other chewing and sucking insects.

Whether it’s for high-end strata complexes, hotels, healthcare facilities, or demanding turf and horticultural applications, MaxumPro gets the job done – and keeps on working.
