Sundew ecowise® – The Next Generation of Natural & Lower Hazard Pest Solutions
A Changing Market, A New Direction
The pest management industry is undergoing a profound transformation. Around the world, consumers, regulators, and pest professionals are demanding solutions that balance effectiveness with safety, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. Traditional chemical controls have served the industry well for decades, but today’s customers are asking new questions: What’s in the product I’m using? Is it safe around my family, pets, and the environment?
At the same time, pest managers are facing growing scrutiny about chemical use, resistance development, and the public perception of pesticide applications. The result is a market that is shifting rapidly toward natural, low-impact, and eco-conscious alternatives.
Sundew has recognised this shift and taken decisive action. Our answer is Sundew ecowise® – a new generation of natural and lower hazard pest management solutions powered by innovative formulation technology, natural actives including Spinosad and Natural Pyrethrin, combined with Sundew’s innovation in delivery systems and operational efficiency.
Why Consumers Want Safer, Natural & Lower Hazard Products
Consumer expectations have evolved significantly in recent years. Today, homeowners, businesses, and facility managers place enormous importance on:
Safety for people and pets – Families and workplaces want reassurance that pest control solutions won’t compromise health.
Environmental responsibility – Eco-conscious customers want products that minimise ecological impact while supporting more responsible pest management practices.
Transparency – Clear labelling, natural origins, lower hazard profiles and trust in the science behind the solution.
Performance – Modern lower hazard and natural products must still deliver professional-level results. Customers are no longer willing to accept “green” alternatives that don’t work.
This convergence of demands has created a once-in-a-generation opportunity. Pest professionals who can offer safer, lower hazard and operationally smarter solutions gain a significant competitive advantage.

The Sundew ecowise® brand represents a suite of innovative products designed to provide natural, lower hazard and professional-grade pest control solutions. TyphoonDUO Concentrate ecowise® with Natural Pyrethrin
APVMA Approved April 2026. Stock Available July 2026.
TyphoonDUO Concentrate ecowise® represents a major advancement in professional pest management formulation technology and operational flexibility. Developed as a high-strength 28 g/L natural pyrethrin pro-concentrate, TyphoonDUO can be applied through ULV cold misting, direct spray applications or thermal fogging when used with Sundew PROFOG™ Thermal Fogging Agent.
For ULV cold misting and direct spray applications, TyphoonDUO is diluted with water to form an advanced water-based microemulsion system where water forms the continuous phase of the formulation. This supports lower hazard application, reduced solvent loading and alignment with the Sundew ecowise® philosophy.
TyphoonDUO also features approximately 94% non-hazardous ingredients, non-flammable formulation technology with a flashpoint greater than 93°C and a completely PBO-free formulation profile. Its high-strength concentrate design allows operators to significantly reduce packaging, freight and storage requirements compared with traditional lower-strength pyrethrum formulations.
When used for thermal fogging, TyphoonDUO supports the broader Sundew ecowise® operational ethos through reduced chemical complexity, lower transport requirements and improved operational efficiency, while recognising that thermal fogging itself is not considered a fully ecowise® application method.

Why Natural & Lower Hazard Technologies?
At the heart of the Sundew ecowise® range are innovative natural and lower hazard technologies including Spinosad and advanced water-based formulation systems designed to support safer, more environmentally conscious pest management.
Spinosad, originating from the fermentation of the soil bacterium Saccharopolyspora spinosa, is recognised globally for its unique mode of action and favourable safety profile. Combined with modern lower hazard formulation technologies such as advanced water-based microemulsions, the ecowise® range delivers professional performance while supporting evolving expectations surrounding safety, transparency and environmental responsibility.
It is this combination of performance, safety and formulation innovation that forms the foundation of the Sundew ecowise® brand.
Spinosad Safety Profile
Safety is at the core of our eco-friendly pest solutions. Spinosad is renowned not only for its effectiveness against pests but also for its exceptional safety profile. To put this into perspective, scientists measure toxicity using the oral LD50—the dose required to kill 50% of test animals (mg per kg of body weight).
| Compound | Oral LD50 (mg/kg) |
|---|---|
| Bifenthrin | 43 |
| Indoxacarb | 179 |
| Table Salt | 3,000 |
| Spinosad | 3,700 |
As the table shows, Spinosad is even safer than table salt, with an oral LD50 of 3,700 mg/kg. In comparison, widely used synthetic insecticides like bifenthrin and indoxacarb are far more toxic, with LD50 values of 43 mg/kg and 179 mg/kg, respectively.
This outstanding safety margin makes Spinosad ideal for use in both professional and residential environments, giving you peace of mind while delivering powerful pest control.
