At the core of McFly® BaitSpray is Spinosad, a naturally derived active ingredient produced through the fermentation of Saccharopolyspora spinosa, a soil-dwelling bacterium.
This unique insecticide belongs to Insecticide Group 5 (spinosyns) and offers a completely different mode of action from traditional fly control products. It targets the insect’s nervous system by disrupting both nicotinic and GABA receptors, leading to hyperexcitation, paralysis, and death.
The result is rapid kill of adult flies, including those resistant to conventional chemistries, with significantly lower risk to non-target organisms and the surrounding environment.
Dual-Mode Application for
Maximum Flexibility
McFly® BaitSpray is a liquid concentrate formulation that can be applied in two versatile ways: as a spray-on or paint-on bait.
For spray applications, it is diluted at a 1:2 ratio with water and applied as a coarse spray to surfaces where flies typically rest.
In its paint-on form, McFly® is also mixed at a 1:2 ratio with water and applied using a brush to fly-frequented areas such as window ledges, joists, walls, and industrial food waste bins.
Additionally, McFly® can be painted onto bait placement materials like cardboard, timber, or fabric, which are then suspended in fly-prone zones to attract and eliminate adult flies.
This dual-application flexibility makes McFly® ideal for a wide range of use sites, including abattoirs, food processing plants, poultry sheds, feedlot manure heaps, garbage dumps, animal housing, and other commercial or industrial areas.
Indoors, McFly® can be confidently used in commercial animal facilities and industrial workspaces, providing effective fly management in areas where hygiene and pest control are critical.
Kills Flies for Up to Four Weeks
Formulated to attract and kill adult houseflies and lesser houseflies, including organophosphate-resistant strains, McFly® BaitSpray delivers immediate and extended knockdown performance. After application, flies are drawn to the baited surfaces, where they ingest the Spinosad and succumb quickly. Under typical conditions, control persists for up to four weeks, significantly reducing fly pressure and the need for frequent reapplications.
